“It feels good, but Adam deserves this,” he said on stage.
Allen was considered a long shot, but he wowed the show’s judges during the semi-final with his rendition of Kanye West’s Heartless and secured his place in the final week.
Lambert had been widely considered the frontrunner since early in the season, where he dazzled audiences and the show’s judges with his powerhouse off-the-charts vocal range and dramatic flair.
But backstage, Lambert appeared unfazed by the loss.
“For me it’s not really about what happened tonight, it’s about tomorrow,” he said.

Blog: ‘Sheer non-existence’

Ms Allen called the death row system a “regime of silence, isolation and sheer non-existence”.
She said that the Japanese practice of informing prisoners that they would be killed with only a few hours notice was “utterly cruel”.
According to the report – which researchers said had been challenging to compile due to the secrecy of the country’s justice system – the conditions faced by many death row prisoners are making them mentally ill.
Death row prisoners, according to Amnesty, are not allowed to speak to other inmates and are held in isolation.
Apart from twice or thrice-weekly exercise sessions, they are not even allowed to move around their cells but must remain seated, the group says.
As a result, many are now suffering from mental illnesses and are delusional.
According to Japan’s code of criminal procedure, if a person condemned to death is in a state of insanity, the execution shall be stayed by the justice minister.

Blog:Going to the Restaurant

We frequently eat out at a restaurant on occasions like going to a wedding dinner or a birthday party, or relatives from out of town coming to visit us, or just close friends spending an evening together . Our favorite restaurant called ‘Green leaf ’specializes in Taiwanese food. On weekends, the restaurant is always very crowded and noisy; the waitresses are always busy carrying food. The food is not heavily spiced, yet very delicious; the prices are reasonable, too. The small children like fish balls, and like their fresh green vegetables; it is really a nice family place to eat.

Water is used in homes, in farming, and in manufacturing. The water used by the people comes from oceans, lakes, rivers, and streams. Many water sources are becoming polluted. People are throwing things into the water. Factories are dumping waste materials into the water. Cities are dumping sewage into the water. Some water sources have become so badly polluted that the water cannot be made fit to use. Would you like to drink water that came from a source that had been so badly mistreated? Now is the time that we should take up our responsibility to protect our environment from being polluted.

THE MEPXHANT OQ SENIXE is a book that was written by Shakespeare. The book tells us such a story:Bassanio, a noble Venetian, who, having but a small patrimony, had nearly exhausted his little fortune by living in too expensive a manner for his slender means, as men of high rank with small fortunes are too apt to do. Antonio was his best friend. Whenever Bassanio wanted money, Antonio assisted him. One day Bassanio came to Antonio, and wanted Antonio to lend him three thousand ducats to marry his lover Portia. But Antonio had no money on him at that time to lend his friend. So they went together to Shylock, the Jew, who was a usurer. He was a hard-hearted man, and he hated Antonio very much. So he promised Antonio at once, but Antonio should go with him to a lawyer, and there signed in merry sport a bond, that if he did not repay the money by a certain day, he would forfeit a pound of flesh, to be cut off from any part of his body that Shylock pleased. Antonio promised. But after Bassanio married, Antonio’s ship sank, so he had no money to return to Shylock. Shylock hated Antonio so he wanted the pound of flesh. Bassanio knew that and took the money twenty times over to save his friend. But Shylock only wanted to kill Antonio. When there seemed to be no way to help Antonio, Portia came. She dressed herself as a man who was a lawyer. She contended with Shylock on the law court. She persuaded Shylock to accept the money but not the flesh. But Shylock only wanted to kill Antonio; he didn’t accept the money. At last Portia found a rip in the agreement. So she saved Antonio and Shylock got punished.

Many modern young adults are accused of their treachery and lacking filial piety. I am lucky to find most of my classmates or friends love their parents sincerely, though sometimes generation gaps do exist between children and parents.

H often complains about his father’s not understanding him, but he looks so sad when he hears his father is ill.

Y is now living under the expectation of his parents. He always blames himself for not studying hard, (in fact, in my opinion, he is working hard.) and fears to let them down.

X wrote in her blog that she would be a very bad guy if she were an orphan. All that she is doing is to make her parents a comfortable and happy old age. Frankly speaking, her love to her parents is far beyond my expectation. I am not surprised at that she loves her parents, but that she loves them so much. I also love my parents, but when contradiction comes up, I choose liberty and stick to my dream. As a result, they have to wait for several years to live a comfortable life, which makes me very guilty.

I feel a little tedious since the IELTS exam. Frankly speaking, I just wanna have a great relaxation and enjoy myself, yet the daily routine grabs and occupies me intensely. From my inner sense I am looking forward to my exam score, and I wonder if it can meet my previous expectation but it is still in the air. My decision what I should do next step depends on the final score. Anyway, my following interests are dieting and reading “Yu Dan’thoughts on Zhuangzi”.

blog:Outlining What You Will Write

October 26, 2009 at 11:00 am • Posted in newsComments Off

Your planning outline will probably be informal at first as you think in writing and organize your thoughts. As with your thesis, you may revise your outline many times before you are ready to draft your paper, as you gain knowledge of your topic and make decisions about how to organize the information for your audience. In fact, some teachers may even require you to create a planning outline of your paper first and submit it for review.

Outlining is just another way to organize your ideas and can be used at every stage of the writing process. Outlining, especially in the planning stages, may be informal, a scratch list of points you want to make. Ideas are often simply jotted down in an order that appears to make sense to the writer in thinking about the topic. At a more developed stage, an outline may expand on several aspects of the thesis and controlling idea.

A formal outline, on the other hand, may contain complete sentences that expand the major and minor supporting statements for the clearly delineated thesis statement. How formal and detailed your outline is depends on the demands of the writing task and what kind of writer you are.

To summarize, outlining can help you plan and manage your writing assignment in several ways

The thaw between North Korea and the outside world began when former US President Bill Clinton went to Pyongyang to secure the release of two US journalists detained for alleged illegal entry.
It was furthered by the North’s expression of grief at the death of former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung, the man credited with the sunshine policy of rapprochement.
When North Korea sent a delegation of senior envoys to his funeral, those envoys also spoke with current South Korean leaders.
But there is still no movement on deadlocked international talks on North Korea’s nuclear ambitions.
The North remains insistent that it wants bilateral talks with the United States and that the six-party talks involving both Koreas, China, the US, Russia and Japan are dead.
